The best kept Secret in La Crescenta! France cafe is like having a Paris Chef for Lunch or Dinner! The Pork Chops my husband and I had yesterday were the most amazing I have ever had. It was juicy and flavorful with the amazing sauce of olive oil and herbs. I highly recommend France Cafe!
The service and the ambiance of the France Cafe in La Crescenta is perfect. It's a great place to go to get authentic French cuisine, and the manager Gerard brings a layer of genuine French touch to everything from the menu to the service. Thank you for being there. When I visit Los Angeles I will always go to France Cafe, even if just for the exquisite baking.
France Café cannot be seen easily from Foothill Boulevard but it's worth the effort to find. How Gerard and Laurent make such wonderful meals in such a small place is hard to understand. I always get the 3-Course meal with a salad, main dish and desert. The meal varies from week to week but is always delicious. The chicken curry sandwich is also a favorite and they have outstanding baked goodies as well. Neighbors recommended France Café and I have been thanking them ever since.
Definitely 5 stars! Wonderful food and service. Can't wait for them to reopen for table service. The takeaway food has been remarkable. Thanks!
The only improvement I might wish for is that there might be a place where we could sit down to enjoy the delicious meals, fresh baked goods, and imported delicacies, etc. But that’s only a wish. My family and I found this small gem after a nearly perfect outing at Descanso Gardens. The France Cafe’ is a nearly perfect, authentic French cafe’ In a place where we did not expect to find anything like that. M. Laurent was both gracious and masterly in his kitchen. We came into his shop surprised and delighted and left very grateful and impressed. We will look forward to future visits, meeting fellow patrons, and taking in more nourishment on many levels from this good man. Thank you, Laurent, for sharing your gifts with your fortunate customers.

The food is so good. Like being in France. Small place and not in the best shopping plaza but ignore that and enjoy the authentic and delicious French dishes ... and the owner is so kind.
My new favorite cafe! Outstanding food prepared by an outstanding authentic French chef!!! I want more of everything I've ordered. Merci beaucoup, Chef Laurent!
LOVE!! France Cafe. I had the tuna melt and was delicious.
Immerse yourself in French cuisine. The bake goods are superb. The soups are deliciously complicated.
The sandwiches are just what you want to transport you to Lyon. I bought French Moutarde in a crockery pot witty a cork. It is delicious. The desserts are superb.
Their baked goods are absolutely delicious! I can't wait to go back and try some of their menu items... I saw them making a sandwich for someone else and it looked so good!
We've been buying bread from France Cafe when they are at the Montrose Farmers Market. We truly love their bread and look forward to visiting the farmers market just for the great bread! Walnut Raison Bread is amazing, the sour dough rolls are awesome for soups.
We are thrilled they have this new location where we can stop by and get great breads anytime!
I can't say enough about this place. Family owned and so very hospitable. We have been enjoying their delicious items for years! We started with the farmers market in Montrose. Then a few years later unfortunately we have to frequent children's hospital and Gerard and his homemade goodies is our silver lining through our journey. We were SO happy that his company was part of their wend farmers market at the hospital.
NOW! We are overjoyed for him to be part of our community daily! He has a variety of bakery goods, sandwiches, paninis, soups, salads, delicious breads and cookies. He has vegan and vegetarian options too! He has went from "Gerard the French baker" to "Gerard our friend". We wish him and his new shop good fortune and everyone should go by and visit, you won't be disappointed!
I stopped in for an early lunch/late breakfast today toward the end of a nice bike ride in the Verdugos. Had a marzipan croissant to start, which was warmed and delicious. I then had the grilled cheese with a cup of (vegan) pea soup as a combo. Both were fantastic. I'll definitely be back.
